The Junction Ogden UT

Built on the site of the former Ogden City Mall, The Junction is a 20-acre entertainment, retail, office, and residential complex in downtown Ogden City. The Junction is located just north of Ogden's historic 25th Street District and west of "The Vard." On the west, Lindquist Field (home of the Pioneer League's Ogden Raptors) is located, while the LDS Temple is to the north. One of Ogden's earliest railroad nicknames was Junction City, and the Junction was named after it.

The Megaplex 13 theater and the adjacent Salomon Center, which includes Fat Cats bowling and arcade, Gold's Gym, FlowRider pool, iRock climbing wall, iFly indoor skydiving, and a few small restaurants, are the Junction's main anchors. These facilities first opened their doors in June of 2007. The nearby Elizabeth Stewart Treehouse Museum, a children's museum with almost 30,000 square feet of interactive exhibits for children ages two to twelve and their families, was already open at the time. Two office buildings, many restaurants, a large parking garage, and a number of condominium and apartment buildings with retail space on the ground floor make up the rest of The Junction.

The Junction is a great place to start any downtown walking adventure because it has plenty of free parking and is close to the LDS Temple, the Ogden-Eccles Conference Center, Historic 25th Street, and The Vard.

It has the same walkability as its neighbors and is Ogden's premier entertainment destination for people of all ages. The majority of Ogden's family-friendly attractions are located here, including the downtown Megaplex Theater, the Treehouse Children's Museum, several restaurants and shops, the Hilton Garden Inn, and The Salomon Center, The Junction's crown jewel.

The Salomon Center houses Flowrider (an indoor surfing facility), iRock (an indoor climbing facility), and iFly (an indoor flying facility), as well as an indoor skydiving wind tunnel. EOS Fitness, Fat Cats (a family fun center with bowling, an arcade, and bumper cars), and a couple of eateries are also located there.

Ogden City has coordinated and supported the development of The Junction in order to revive the city center for economic and cultural growth. The Boyer Company, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wells Fargo, and other private companies have collaborated with the city. In Tiffany Darwish's pop music hit "I Think We're Alone Now," the Ogden City Mall is featured in the video.

From 1980 to 2002, the land was home to the Ogden City Mall. The Bon Marché (later Lamonts), J. C. Penney, Meier & Frank, Meier & Frank (formerly Weinstock's and ZCMI), and Nordstrom were some of the stores that lived there.
