Hi all, Today we will be discussing if you should coat your car, What are the advantages and disadvantages of ceramic coating. I did this review having a coated car for 2 years. What ever i said about ceramic coating is with reference to that experience. I have discussed the following in this video.
Myths about ceramic coating
How to wash a Ceramic coated car - I have also demonstrated this
What are the pros and cons of Ceramic coating
If I were to make a decision, will I coat my car again? or should you Ceramic coat your car?
Also many people were asking about Paint Protection film VS Ceramic coating so here are the detail for that 🙂
Opinion on PPFs VS Ceramic coating
1) Both stop chemical stains
2) Both keep car look new for longer
3) Both keep paint safe from the SUN - UV
So Where does ceramic coating excel?
1) Hydrophobic surface as shown does not let water stay
2) Keeps containment/chemical off the paint
3) Its easier to wash a ceramic coated car
4) it gives the car a lot of shine and gloss
And Where does PPF excel?
1)It prevents rock chips - as in if you drive in rocky roads and there is a chance that small stones can damage your paint PPF will save you there
2)PPF Absorbs small and minor scratches
3) Although on paint both PPF and Ceramic coating prevent swirls but on ceramic coating when swirls do occur you can see them and are visible where as in PPF it does a better job at preventing these swirls in the first place
4) PPF Self heals - one of the reasons for reduced swirls...
One down side however of PPF is that its application requires experience and you need to be really confident in who is doing this job. Further more i have not experienced this but heat levels are quiet high in Paksitan.
and happy Ramadan 2021 to all:)

In the past 6 months with the craziness of the new building project, I haven't removed the cardboard protection from the top of my stainless steel garage countertops. My goal was to avoid a complete disaster by laying my polisher and garage tools on the unprotected metal and scratching the surface, including my cabinet fronts which are painted matte black. So I did a bunch of research and realize Xpel Paint Protection film can be applied over the Moduline cabinets (which I obviously have in the Studio for cars etc...) but somehow never made the mental leap from cars to anything else. So with that "ah-ha" moment, here is the step by step process to protect your stainless steel garage cabinets from a total disaster, along with pretty much anything else with a screen, paint, metal, or plastic. Hope this helps. (no idea why I didn't think of this earlier?) -L

Installing Metallic And Textured Matte Paint Protection Film On A 707 Horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat
We’ve talked a lot about our VINYL options - how they help protect your paint and can even change the color of your car while preserving the factory paint underneath. In addition to that, vinyl can also change the texture by adding a matte (flat) look, cover the chrome around the window with a different color, highlight door handles, etc.
What can that look like? We recently received a request to apply paint protection film to a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. How was this different than the other Challengers we’ve worked on? The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is a high performance variant of the Challenger equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI engine rated at 707 horsepower and 650 lb⋅ft of torque. As CAR and DRIVER states, “Our test car [Challenger SRT Hellcat] roared to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and completed the quarter-mile in 11.8 seconds at 125 mph” Source. For a street vehicle, those are radical numbers. So the idea of working on this machine was exciting for everyone at Capitol Shine.
This Hellcat came factory with an awesome deep glossy black:
However, the owner wanted to truly separate his vehicle from the pack with a unique look that compliments the body style. The owner chose a metallic matte vinyl film for the body and a textured black matte for the side mirrors, roof and hood.
With the options chosen, we got to work. Applying film is a delicate process that requires precision and a slow-and-steady approach. We want to avoid any air bubbles and imperfections:
For some added pop, we customized the emblems with a deep bright red vinyl to match the brake calipers:
The end result is truly something to behold:
Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat:
Body: Metallic Matte Vinyl Film
Hood, Mirrors, Roof: Textured Black Matte Film
Hellcat Emblems: Red Film
